Investment Philosophy
At Alliant Wealth Advisors, whether we’re guiding individual investors and their families, or serving as an Investment Fiduciary for a company’s 401(k) Solution, our investment philosophy involves managing carefully constructed portfolios that reflect individual goals and foster financial confidence toward achieving them. Our strategy incorporates the following core concepts:
- Risk and return are related – After identifying financial goals, investors are advised to seek market returns based on their ability and tolerance for accepting or avoiding the interrelated market risks.
- Asset allocation (diversification) is key – By spreading equity risk across various asset classes, as well as balancing it against risk-dampening fixed income holdings, we custom-build disciplined portfolios to match each client’s distinct risk/return profile.
- Costs matter – Rather than trying to “beat the market,” we believe (and countless studies substantiate) that minimizing investment costs best positions investors to achieve their goals. For individual and 401(k) plan portfolios, we select cost-effective funds and encourage minimized trading activities. Within individual portfolios, we also manage for the impact of taxes.
